This week has seen the Year 6 Aquamarines exploring the curriculum in a variety of ways; from honing their speaking and listening skills with school tours to welcoming in visitors and learning about personal travel safety with Transport for London.

A particular highlight was an inspiring virtual tour of the Charles Dickens museum. Through the wonders of technology the children were guided around each room, discovering more about the life and works of Dickens and what it was like to live in Victorian times. They were fascinated by some of the household items that were used, particularly the commode (toilet) chair in the bedroom! The guide was impressed by the children’s eye for detail and their ability to give evidence for their thoughts based on what they had seen. It was a truly wonderful experience and has added great value to our Victorians topic.
