To celebrate the end of our World and Me topic, each child in Reception Diamonds came into school dressed as someone from their special place. We had representatives from places as far flung as Colombia, Canada and Sweden. We also had some home-based costumes from Cornwall and the Isle of Wight. Everyone was able to say why their place was special to them and show something from their special box. Some children explained that their chosen place was special because they had been there lots of times, some said it was because their grandparents live there and others said a family member had brought them something back from there. Even the adults in Reception dressed up. A fantastic day was had by all to celebrate the differences between us.
