This week Year 2 were visited by Florence Nightingale. Miss Nightingale was very impressed by the children’s courteous manners. Year 2 now know about the symptoms of cholera, tuberculosis and typhoid. They went back in time and recreated Scutari Hospital which was in quite a state! The nurses did a fantastic job of caring for the soldiers, cleaning the hospital and preventing the spread of infection. Florence Nightingale has certainly inspired some of the children to enter the medical profession. Can you recognise any of the nurses or soldiers in the photographs below?
