Year 3 Rubies have been experimenting with magnets in Science. We have looked at the magnetic forces of repelling and attracting. To show and prove the magnetic force, we tied a paper clip to the table and placed a magnet near it. It was amazing to see what happened next, as it looked like the paper clip was either floating or flying! The space between the magnet and paper clip clearly showed the invisible magnetic force!
We also made some floating compasses by magnetising a paper clip and watching it point northwards! Every time we moved the compass it would turn by itself and face North
