On a lovely sunny Thursday morning, Year 4 were very excited to be heading out to the secret garden to help with taking down the (extremely) large sunflowers. Just like in The Enormous Turnip, in small groups, we pulled the sunflowers out at the root. How strong the Year 4 pupils are! Then we (very) carefully, after discussing how to be safe, sawed the sunflowers into smaller parts. Finally, we extracted the seeds, ready for next summer. We loved learning more about the life cycle of plants and it was splendid to have Year 4 so ready to help!

Sunflower CompetitionSavills visited Reception to Year 3 today to see photographs of how our sunflowers have grown at home.  Savills will return tomorrow during assembly and present a few prizes.
