On February 8 in Reception we all dressed in clothes from our special places. There was a girl in a long black dress from Doha, a boy in a lifeboatman’s kit from the Isle of Wight and a girl in traditional Russian dress to name just a few. We tasted food from America, Poland and Jamaica and all had a chance to show something to children in the other Reception class from our special box. It rounded off our ‘World and Me’ topic really well.
During the topic we made pizzas, acted out Handa’s Surprise about a girl from Kenya, met and held African animals, learned how to say hello in different ways and danced to Spanish music. It has aroused a real fascination in one another’s cultural background!
