‘Wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim’rous beastie… ‘ are not the usual sounds you hear from the mouths of our Year 4 pupils on a Friday morning. But on Robbie Burns Day, they were in full voice, trying to decipher and decode his wonderful poem, ‘To a Mouse’, and hear all about his celebrated status. Furthermore, some ‘well tidy scran’ known as ‘Cranchan’ was on the menu and as our wee bairns tucked in they were treated to a presentation by our own resident Scot, the fantastic Mr Wright, who delighted the pupils with a visual display of his homeland sprinkled with tales of Burns and other famous Scottish heroes. Thank you to Mr Wright, “pure barry!”
