Year 5 had a wonderful time honing their sewing skills making felt poppies for Remembrance Day.

 

During Peace Week, Year 5 had the opportunity to create their own poppies. The children enjoyed working with a variety of materials, helping each other and spending time thinking about the meaning behind poppies.

 

Year 5 enjoyed a fascinating talk about the Christian International Peace Service (CHIPS) from Mrs Eady, whose father founded the charity over 50 years ago. We learnt about the different meanings of the word ‘peace’ and heard about many of the projects the charity has been involved in, both internationally and much closer to home.
