On Monday, Year 3 Rubies went to the Natural History Museum as part of our Science topic. We journeyed into the centre of the Earth, wobbled in the earthquake room and were dazzled by the colours and sparkles of the precious stones. After marvelling at the enormity of the dinosaurs, we participated in a workshop with some of the museum’s historians. We were able to handle rocks and fossils, and found out what fossils are, what they can tell us and how palaeontologists study them to explore prehistoric life on Earth. It was a fun hands-on workshop where we had the chance to perform our own fossil dig and work out what our mystery specimen might be. What an amazing day out!
